ETTERKLANG (2012)

Etterklang is a multifaceted project inspired by Norvegian modern architect Sverre Fehn's works and writings, especially concerning Skådalen School for Deaf Children (1975) - a building widely considered a failure at the time of its construction. A Dagbladet article in 1975 accused Fehn of "forgetting that there are children going to the school".

The building was criticized for bad acoustics (hence the title etterklang - norwegian for echo) and for the choice of building materials, mostly concrete. Fehn defended his work in writing but was largely banned from public commissions in Oslo for twenty years.
